Two Spoons Creamery has launched a high-protein, blood sugar/GLP-1 friendly ice cream in Rocky Road, Strawberries and Cream, Caramel Swirl, and Fudgy Brownie flavors.

Cofounders Rich Ferreira and Gabe Zichermann started the business after Zichermann noted that he was disappointed with keto-friendly ice cream options available at the time, due to chalky textures, artificial tastes, and a lack of other tasty inclusions. Together, he and Ferreria created a premium ice cream that would be suitable for his health regimen, which included using GLP-1 agonist drugs, but also to create a better-for-you option that kids and adults would love.

“We spent a full year just working on our Rocky Road, a truly unique flavor in this category,” said Ferreira. “It’s a decadent chocolate ice cream swirled with super fudgy brownies, tasted nuts, and tons of our original marshmallow fluff. The whole thing is gluten-free and packs 30 grams of protein. We had to test thousands of batches to get it right. We broke a few machines in the process, but hey, if it’s not full of fluff, is it even Rocky Road?”

Two Spoons has already achieved awards, funding, and multiple retail partnerships ahead of its launch.

Each container of ice cream contains 30 grams of protein, contains no sugar alcohols, and is considered sugar free, as the sole sweetener is allulose, a low-calorie sugar with a low glycemic impact that may support the body’s production of GLP-1.

Each Two Spoons package also contains mix-ins, unlike other better-for-you brands, such as salted caramel, strawberry jam, brownies, marshmallows, and nuts. The ice cream also contains olive oil in lieu of seed oils.

“We’re bringing back the nostalgic American classics made better,” said Zichermann. “We grew up loving ice cream but want a healthier option without compromise. I’ve lost weight and improved my health on Ozempic and Wegovy. Knowing that Two Spoons has the right macros and is just as satisfying as other brands – that’s a win for us, our families, retailers, and our country.
